Today I wanted to focus on one of my favorite blushes again -LORAC's Baked Matte Satin Blush. Back in August, I reviewed the blush in Exposed, which was a great blush for Summer, but today will be all about Velvet Rope -a lovely Fall shade.
The Packaging: The blush is packaged in a shiny, metallic onyx pan with a clear, plastic lid. In my last review of Exposed, I mentioned that I wasn't a big fan of the packaging. However, after using both blushes on a daily basis and traveling with them, I have to say that the compacts are pretty sturdy -neither the compacts nor the blushes have broken (after many drops.) Also, I like that the blushes are small and easy to carry with me. The only downside is the no mirror factor -how am I supposed to apply my blush without a mirror?!

Ingredients
The Product: I mentioned before that this should not be labeled as a matte blush as it's clearly not matte. The blushes does contain shimmer but instead of being flashy and in-your-face, the shimmer translates as more of a beautiful, luminous glow on the cheeks. If you're looking for "naturally" glowing cheeks, this is the product to invest in.The blush has excellent color payoff, applies smoothly, blends easily, and feels nice and light on my skin.

And now for the downside: The blush does not last long. Velvet Rope and Exposed (the shades I've tried) only last about 3 hours on bare skin. You need to use a face primer with this -primer and foundation will help the blush last longer.

The Color: Velvet Rope is rose red with a pinch of plum (and very fine shimmer) that gives the most gorgeous "natural" glow.

Swatches..

Above (with flash): LORAC Baked Matte Satin Blush in Velvet Rope, Exposed, Flaunt, Hollywood, Plush

Overall: This is one of the best blushes I've tried and has quickly made it to my HG list. Although it doesn't last the longest, its gorgeous-ness makes up for it -I've never seen anything like it. If you're looking for a blush that will give you that natural "from within" glow, give this a try. However, if "lasting ability" is a deal breaker for you, skip this and keep on moving.

Where To Buy: Sephora, Beauty.com, Ulta, LORAC
