January 2011 Favorites

I didn't even realize that it was the end of the month until just now! I've been super busy with school and work lately so I haven't actually had time to wear much makeup at all but here's what I came up with:

1. Benefit Bella Bamba Blush- I got this a few weeks ago and have been loving it ever since. It's basically just your so-not-average watermelon pink with golden shimmer as described on so many other beauty blogs. I actually do prefer Coralista over Bella Bamba but this packs a nice punch of pink.

2. Illamasqua Lover Blush- I've been wanting this for the longest time and was finally able to get around the end of December. Sephora stores and online have been out of stock for months so I was thrilled to find this at my local Sephora store. Lover is a matte, very bright, apricot peach. It's easy to apply too much since it's so pigmented but when using just the right amount, it looks beautiful.

3. NARS Turkish Delight Lip Gloss- I've been using the Turkist Delight side of my NARS Turkish Delight/Sayonara Lip Gloss/Stain duo all month. I love the milky pink shade and the NARS formula is so moisturizing -a must for my dry, Winter lips!

4. Cetaphil Skin Restoring Moisturizer- My doctor gave me a full size bottle of this and the new cleanser back in (I think) December and I've really been loving both products. (I didn't take a picture of the cleanser since it's in my bathroom.) The lotion really helps to lock in moisture and keeps my skin soft and smooth -at least during the days that I remember to apply it! I think my skin likes when I switch skincare products from time to time.

5. Milani Eye Tech Liquid Eye Liner in Black- This has been in my Monthly Favorite many times now but it's really one of the only makeup products that I've actually been using this month. It provides a dark, long lasting line and stays on all day -even through any allergies or tears.

6. Claire's Rose Earrings- I got these dusty rose earrings in a set of 3 at Claire's for around $9 earlier this month. I absolutely adore them and have been pairing them with every outfit. =)
7. Raffaello Almond Coconut Candies- I can't stop munching on these! They're sweet (but not too sweet) and are totally addictive.

What are your favorites from January? Have a nice day everyone!

  8. @ Jen.. OMG I know! My family finished an entire Costco size box in one week and I was kind of upset because I only got to eat 2 or 3! I had to ask my mom to pick up another box for me. =P

Have you tried Sephora online or in the store? My store said that they were out of stock because they were waiting for Illamasqua to ship them more (from overseas) so they should be in stock now!! ..Unless they sold out in the last month.

@ Pop Champagne.. Yea I've heard that too. I just switch conditioners and the new one stinks! Will need to switch again ASAP.

@ sormui.. I know! I love that milky coconut part. =P

@ MEOW.. Wow they seem to be a big hit! Everyone loves them. =)

@ Katie.. Ooh.. I haven't tried Clinique products in so long! Maybe I'll stop by the counter next time they have an awesome GWP -I love freebies. =O

@ siwing.. OMG! 75% off?! Oh man that's a great deal.

@ Schumitza.. Hmm.. For liquid liners? I was using Eyeko which is great too but the Milani is so much more "inky." I like Urban Decay as well but it's a little pricey. I've tried other drugstore liquid liners too but they weren't great. I'm sorry! Wish I could be of more help. If you can get your hands on the Eyeko Graffiti pens, I'd go for those.

  13. Great faves! I just got Bella Bamba and it is crazy pigmented! It will take me years to go through it! I have been looking a lot at Nars glosses lately, particularly Chihuahua. Most lighter glosses don't show up on my lips. How long does that milani liner last? I have been using the Jordana fabuliner and I am in LOVE! It's so cheap, but I don't live near a walgreens so I have to buy it online :-(

Hahaha. This is such a nice post, Kali. Thank you for sharing!

  15. Nom nom. Those raffaello chocolates are little heavenly bites of sinful goodness!

Can you think of a dupe for Bella Bamba? It looks so pretty but I did some major damage at Cherry Culture tonight to ship to the UK (yay, no more Nyx virgin!) and can't justify it somehow. The 3D thing just gets me somehow, even though it's a pure marketing tactic!

  16. I need that lotion! My youngest has really bad eczema...this cold weather is making it worse =(.

I like how bold that eyeliner looks.I need something to go over my liner after I put false lashes on.

  18. There is a profound and distinct favourite of mine... but it's not really an item... it's a -smell-! Dove's 'Cucumber and Green Tea' - ... comes in moisturizers, facial wash and deodorant... I love it all... and think it'll be one of my favourites, especially the body lotion for a long time to come.

The smell is just perfect for me, and so refreshing! :)

  19. @ PoorCollegeStudent.. OMG me too! But then again, I don't think I'll ever finish any of my blushes.. Chihuahua's a really nice natural shade. As for the Milani liner, the black lasts all day for me unless my eyes get really watery -evern through naps! BUT if my eyes are really watery, then the "wings" will smudge off -the liner along my lashline will stay though. The black's better than the brown too.

@ Fifi.. You're welcome. =) I hope you get it because it's very pretty!

@ ShimmerDreamz (Cassie).. OMG I know! Totally delicious.

Hmm.. it's really just a watermelon pink with golden shimme and a nice sheen.. I wouldn't call it a must have but it really is beautiful. I can't think of a dupe but if I find one, I'll post about it -sorry!

@ Melissa.. I really like Cera Ve also -have you and your little one tried that? And the Cetaphil Cream (in the tub) works wonders when skin is extra dry.

@ Jennifer.. Oh I hope you find it! It's going to be great for spring. =)

@ Jen.. Ooh I know the smell! It is quite refreshing -I like those types of scents too.
