Today I'm reviewing one of the products from my recent Wet 'n' Wild haul -the Color Icon Palette in Lust. I've heard so many raves about Wet 'n' Wild's Color Icon eyeshadows I knew I'd have to give them a try. I decided to step out of my comfort zone this time around and get a more "colorful" palette instead of opting for my usual neutrals.

The Packaging: The eyeshadows are packaged in your usual clear, plastic palettes like most other drugstore palettes. At the bottom, there's a small compartment that holds the 2 "brushes" includes -a sponge applicator and a stumpy "brush" that I'd never use.

The Product: Considering the fact that it was just under 5 bucks, I was really impressed by this palette. On the upside, every shade had great color payoff, the eyeshadows felt soft and smooth, and they last almost all day with primer. They're not as long lasting as my favorites from NARS and LORAC but it's still a great product for the price.
On the downside, I found the blending a bit difficult. When I did blend, the color would fade a lot. I tried it on top of UDPP (which didn't fully fix the problem) and also on top of a MAC Paint Pot. On top of a Paint Pot, the color didn't fade but the blending was still a little difficult. Also, the eyeshadows are slightly on the powdery/chalky side and there's a lot of fallout.

Overall: I really do wish I'd tried Wet 'n' Wild's Color Icon eyeshadows sooner. The shades are so pigmented and the colors are so beautiful. I did have trouble with the blending but with a little work, the outcome can be gorgeous.

  1. I like the middle 2 colours. I think the purple colour is quite unique. Too bad the last 2 turned out looking more like black though =(

  2. This palette looks great on everything I've seen, I want it, but have waaay too much eyeshadow as it is and just wear the same neutrals everyday.

  4. @ Isabel.. If you like it, definitely pick it up because it's a really nice palette for such a low price. I actually like the last 2 colors even though they're a little dark.. just think, great for a creative smokey eye. =)

@ Justine.. I know!! I've seen so many people with it. I'm like you though (wear the same neutrals every day) so I'm trying my best to switch it up and use my more colorful/dark eyeshadows.
