About 2 weeks ago, I posted about my T.J. Maxx haul and how I totally hit the jackpot when I found some Shiseido Perfect Rouge lipsticks. Shiseido Perfect Rouge lipsticks are my favorite as of right now -they've been the best I've been able to find so far in my lipstick journey. I was able to score Serenity, which I've been wanting, for just $16.99!
The Packaging: Shiseido's Perfect Rouge tubes are my favorite of any high-end or low-end brand. Because they're heavier (not super heavy or anything), they actually feel expensive -not light and cheap like other tubes. The tubes are squareish with rounded corners and sides that arch inwards (totally stands out from my other round or square tubes.) And to top it off, the purpley onyx color is unique too.
A minor downside is that you can get slight fingerprints on the tubes -but it's very hard to notice because of the tubes' darker color. Now a major downside is the fact that the tubes don't have the actual "color names" on them -instead you get letter/number combinations, in this case it's RS701, which are always difficult to memorize. However, I do think these "combinations" are better than others because the letters give you a hint to what the color is. "RS" is rose, "BE" is beige, "RD" is red, "PK" is pink, etc.
Ingredients
The Product: At $25, the lipstick is a bit pricey but I find the price to be in the "middle" when it comes to high-end brands in general.
The unscented lipstick is very moisturizing compared to other lipsticks I've tried. It feels like a lip balm and don't look super dry on my lips -even when my lips are already very dry. (I have a difficult time wearing lipsticks because they always end up sinking into my lip lines and looking dry.) Also, the lipstick feels light on and applies smoothly and evenly with no problems. And to wrap it up, the lipstick is semi-sheer with one layer but builds up to a very pigmented color with just a few more swipes. The lipstick lasts about 5 hours (without eating or dinking.)
The Color: Serenity (RS 701) is a dusty mauve-y pink with a grayish cast to it. There's no noticeable shimmer but it does have a semi-glossy sheen to it.

Overall: I've been loving Shiseido Perfect Rouge lipsticks for awhile now Serenity is a lovely addition to my collection. I highly recommend these -I think they're better and cheaper than lipsticks from brands like YSL and Dior. The only thing I could possibly wish for from these is maybe longer lasting color and a cheaper price. Other than that, these are a solid A in my book (the final grade equaled to a 92% but I felt it deserved to be pushed up to an A.)

Where To Buy: T.J. Maxx ($16.99), Sephora, Nordstrom

  2. Just cross your fingers and keep a look out! =) I thought the exact same thing amount the ones by me. I went to another one today and couldn't find ANY make up there though so it's really all random I think.

Shiseido lippies are AWESOME. They're a must try.
