Because I was so pleased with Brushed Copper, I couldn't wait to try out Revlon's Luxurious Color Eyeshadow in Peacock Lustre. In the packaging, it sort of reminded me of the NARS Underworld Duo -silvery slate blue so I had some high hopes.

The Packaging: The eyeshadow is packaged in a plastic, matte black compact and comes with a sponge tip applicator. I'm not a fan of cheapie packaging because they always end up getting broken (huge klutz here!)

Like I mentioned in my review of Brushed Copper, I just love the "accordion" design that's imprinted onto the eyeshadow itself. It looks so sweet and delicate.

Ingredients
The Product: I was a lot less impressed with Peacock Lustre than I was with Brushed Copper. While Brushed Copper had awesome pigmentation, Peacock Lustre applied a lot sheerer and I had to really layer it on to get good color payoff. I also felt that Peacock Lustre didn't last quite as long as Brushed Copper -even with a primer. It faded a bit throughout the day but not drastically (the primer really helped.) Other than that, Peacock Lustre feels smooth and doesn't irritate my skin -which I love.

The Color: Peacock Lustre, a satin finish, is a medium, silvery slate blue with silver shimmer. When I just apply one layer, it's very sheer and looks almost totally silver -you have to really layer it on to see the blue.

Swatches..

Above (no flash) from left: Revlon Luxurious Color Eyeshadow in Peacock Lustre swatched 5x (layered), swatched once (1 layer) See how sheer it is with just 1 layer??

Overall: I'd recommend this if you're looking for a pretty slate blue at a low price. However, if you have a little extra cash, I'd skip it and look for a similar color at Sephora or MAC. That way, you get better color payoff and a longer wearing eyeshadow. It's good for the price but I just don't see myself using it since non-long wearing eyeshadows really irritate me.

Where To Buy: Drugstore.com, CVS, Rite Aid, Walmart, Target

P.S. My auntie dropped off some hazelnut cookies today.. They were delicious -and really cute!

  2. Aren't they cute?! They were super yummy too. And it's really too bad Peacock Lustre wasn't as good as Brushed Copper. I was sort of disappointed. =\

  4. Omg, those cookies are so cute!!!!!!!!!!! Hazelnut is my favorite flavor! :) YUM!

Wow, the eyeshadows are really pretty! I really the colors but it is pretty sheer when swiped once. I don't think anyone would want to swipe 5x on their eyelids to get the more dramatic color :p

  5. @ Jen.. Ooh! I was going to get that one but I wasn't sure if it would work with my skin tone. Glad you like yours.

@ Rainy Days and Lattes.. I like hazelnut too. =) LOL, I don't think anyone would want to have to layer it on that much. =P
