Shu Uemura lipsticks have quickly become a fave here at The Makeup Drawer. I've pretty much pushed all my other lipsticks aside (except for Shiseido) and have been alternating between the 3 Shu lippies I own nearly everytime I wear makeup. Let me introduce you to another lovely color.. the PK 305.

The Packaging: The lipstick comes in a clear, plastic tube. I'm sort of over the fence with the packaging. I love the fact that it's easy to spot when thrown in with my other lipsticks but I feel that it could easily break (the tube) if I'm not careful.
The Product: Unlike the PK 343 lipstick I tried a few weeks ago, when applying this lipstick, it feels gritty (there's a lot of shimmer.) However, once it's on my lips, it doesn't feel gritty at all and instead feels super smooth and moisturizing like my other Shu Uemura lippie. The color is sheer with just one layer but it's very buildable and 2-3 layers will give you great color payoff.
The lipstick lasts about 3-4 hours on my lips (and that's without eating) and wears very comfortably -no lip balm is needed prior to applying the lipstick. There's a slight floral scent but you can't smell it when it's applied.
The Color: Medium warm pink with a hint of peach. The silver glitter looks very obvious in the tube but on the lips, it's very subtle and has a semi-glossy finish. This shade is close to my natural lips but I wouldn't call it MLBB (my lips but better.)

Overall: I love my Shu Uemura lipstick in PK 343 and this is just as good in terms of texture, wear time, and color payoff. I'm not totally head over heels in love with the color like I was for PK 343 but it's still a very nice shade in its own right -I just prefer paler, pinker shades. Go for this if you're looking for a more natural pop of pink for your lips.
Where To Buy: Shu Uemura Online I can't find it on the Shu Uemura website anymore but I know they still have this shade at my Nordstroms counter so you might want to your counter. Shu Uemura is soon/is already in process of (I'm not sure) moving their operations out of the U.S. They're products will only be available online once this happens but so far, my Shu Uemura counter at Nordstroms has stayed full stocked.

  1. Wohoo another hit on the list. This does look good on you Kali. I wish I can say the same for myself with Shu. Have you used their blushes before? Any thoughts?

  2. Oh have you had problems with Shu?? I'm so surprised! I've had such good experiences with them (lipstick wise) and other lipsticks tend to really dry me out. I haven't tried the blushes but I've heard good things and really want to. I have swatched a few instore and they were pigmented and smooth.

  3. It's such a shame that Shu is leaving the US. Their lipsticks are so pretty (Have you tried the ones that are yellow and blue? They apply so sheer they can look quite nice.) and their blushes are so easy to apply and natural looking.

  4. I've been hearing good things about Shu Uemura but I can't find anywhere that sells them here in Canada! Another one to add to list when I go back to Taiwan lol. And yeah Liya Kebede is pretty hot, and she's so good at what she does!

  5. @ Makeup.com Editor.. I totally agree! It's a total shame -I just started loving the company. I haven't tried the yellow and blue lipsticks yet but I really, really want to try them before they leave. I've heard a lot about the blushes too but don't own any. =( At least we can still order online!

@ Pop Champagne.. Definitely make sure you check out Shu when you go there! When do you go?? That's so exciting!

P.S. I checked the (U.S.) Shu Uemura site for you but they only ship to "the U.S., including Alaska, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Hawaii and military APO/FPO destinations." That's so lame because Canada is so close to the U.S.
